I understand that this is my blog and I should be writing my own thoughts, but sometimes I come across things that others have posted and think... "That's exactly what I'd do," or "That's so meaningful..."
So, I think it's good to share what we all have learned, and that's what this entry is for... All going back to getting hurt and how to get back on our feet. I have said my own opinion about it in more than one entries, but this comes from a complete stranger, a post I accidentally read while surfing through forums online... and I have to say, not everyday you can come across something that makes you nod your head and say "So me!"
Here it is:
"We are all human and we all handle our emotions in different ways. Isn't that what makes us individuals. How boring would the world be if we all were the same. Being hurt never feels good, but like learning to ride a bike... when I fell off, I got back on and gave it another try. It took a while but sooner or later I could ride. Sometimes it took longer than others to get back on the bike because of a scraped knee... But I still wanted to ride... My life is like that... I get hurt... then I sit back and decide if I want to dust myself off and give it another shot. If I don't, I am the loser for giving up on something that I really want in my life..."
Sounds dumb, I know. I think after falling off a bike I would sit back and think if getting back on is really that worthy. However, having the courage to think about getting back on is something to be admired already. Live life to the fullest, and don't let any chance past you by without thinking if taking it or keep trying is really worth it.
