~Hope~

“Never let go of hope. One day you will see that it all has finally come together. What you have always wished for has finally come to be. You will look back and laugh at what has passed and you will ask yourself... 'How did I get through all of that?”
                                                                                                                          --Unknown--

I am sharing with you one of my favorite short films today... It is not really a film, just an about 8-minute-long video called "Father and Daughter," put together by talented people, and the meaning of it is by far as great as hour-long movies...

I came across this firm accidentally a number of years back, and ever since then it has become one of the best videos I have seen, just thought I'd share it with you. Enjoy!

The film starts out with, yes, you guessed it, a Father and a Daughter, riding their bicycles to the river. There, they hug goodbye and the Father left...

Years go by, the little girl, later became a teenager, a young lady, a woman, a wife, a mother, then finally a grandma keeps coming to the place to look for just a sign... She was not sure whether or not her Father would return. I am assuming that before he left, he promised her he would come back... and so she keeps on waiting...

At the end of the film, after years and years, the river becomes a crop field... Like always, the daughter, who is now an older woman, still believes that if she keeps coming to the same place, maybe one day she will see her Father once again. And she somehow did... She found his boat at the bottom of the "used-to-be-river"... the boat that carried him away and might be the one that was bringing him back... but never got to the end...

How long do you think it has been there? Do you think her Father ever actually left? Or do you think that the accident happened when he was coming back to her?

I don't have or know the answer...

I'd say the story actually has a happy ending. She finally got  to see her beloved father... in eternity. The love they have for each other eventually brought them together, forever.

I admire that love. Even though we only see the Father for the first few seconds, I think we all can feel the love he has for her.

What I admire even more is the hope the little girl has... She does not only hope... she believes.

For her, her Father had never left. He is always there, and she still misses him and can't wait to see him every day. Days go by, she grows up but her belief stays the same... Simply because she has hope.

I don't think it is too much to say that that hope she has is one of the things that helps her go on in life... something for her to look forward to day by day. The special thing about her is that her life still goes on. She lives her every day life, but still finds time to come back to "the place," comes back to the belief and hope she has in her heart.

So live your life with hope and start believing... in yourself first. Hope gives us the strength we need to make our dreams come true, and even if things don't turn out the way we expected them to, just be sure that they will eventually turn out the way they supposed to, and we can always say that at least we tried.

Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow them.
